Welcome!

Shalom and thank you for visiting.  This is a personal blog site, written from my perspective as a rabbi, husband and father.  I aspire to share my spiritual ideals and my personal journey here, along with my thoughts about religion, family, community and the world we live in.  I am so glad you are visiting today, and hope you enjoy this site.

Who Am I?

I've been a congregational rabbi since 1999, when I received my s'michah from the Hebrew Union College - Jewish Institute of Religion in New York City. Before becoming a rabbi, I played jazz and classical guitar for a living, and music still plays an important role in my life -- and my spirituality.  When I am not at the synagogue I enjoy cycling, the martial arts, home-brewing beer and hanging out with my family.  I am looking forward to sharing my thoughts about Jewish spirituality, sacred text, Israel, theology, health and fitness.
If you enjoy classical music, here is a recording from my performance in the June 2002 Buffalo-Niagara Guitar Festival, featuring members of the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra
